Google Local Business Referral Program

Google Local Business Referral ProgramWell, since this is a brand new blog, I’m thinking by the time this is read by anyone, the news won’t be so new, but I’ll continue nonetheless.

Google, as usual, is thinking outside the box in what I consider a brilliant idea.  The have started a program to enlist us, normal people, to spread the news of Google’s Adwords program and at the same time, inform Google of local small businesses’ whereabouts, contact information, and sales information.  Brilliant.

“In keeping with our mission to organize the world’s information, we’re always looking for new ways to make that information more universally accessible and useful. With the Google Local Business Referrals (LBR) program, we’re focusing our efforts on small businesses across the United States, helping connect them with potential customers in their communities.”

They plan on paying people 2$ when they receive the information and an additional 8$ once they confirm the information with the business (via postcard or online).  If one were to start this program now, being brand new, they could probably make quite a bit of cash.  I’m thinking that this will spread like wildfire like everything Google does so in a matter of months, I would image that a lot of the locals will already be on the prowl.

I’ll do whatever I can to help Google in any way, I think they’re one of the best companies out there.  Unfortunately, I’m a little too busy to go door to door and get this information for them.  However, I’m hoping that this post will reach people that do have the time and motivation.
