New York’s $25,000 dessert sets Guinness record

Posted by Rick  Published in Society, WTF

PhotoI saw this on Yahoo News and I think it’s disgusting.  A 25-friggin-thousand dollar dessert.  I’ll have two, thanks.

Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3, partnered with luxury jeweler Euphoria New York to create the “Frrozen Haute Chocolate,” a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from around the globe.

The dessert, spelled with two Rs, is infused with 5 grams (0.2 ounces) of edible 23-karat gold and served in a goblet lined with edible gold. At the base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds.

The sundae is topped with whipped cream covered with more gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschildt Chocolatier, which sells for $2,600 a pound.

First and Hopefully Last Vick Rant

Posted by Rick  Published in Football, Rants, Society

cuffs.jpgOk, for starters, I have to say that I want Vick locked up.  Not because I hate him and not because he killed us (the Rams) in the playoffs a few years ago.  I want him to go to jail and lose everything he has so he and other stupid people can learn a damn lesson.  Something needs to smack these people around and show them that they better respect the rest of the world and they better realize that they can lose it all in a heartbeat.

Now…  I also have to say that I hope the guy does get to play NFL football again.  He was an amazing player to watch…  One of a kind.  If we all say that the punishment fits the crime, I don’t see why the NFL or anyone else shouldn’t think that he had paid for his crimes when he gets out and shouldn’t let him back in.  If you lose your 130 million dollar contract and your 2 or 3 homes and your pride, and whatever else you may have in your life, I’m optimistic that one very well could learn a lesson from all this and come out a better person.

I think what he did is terrible.  I love dogs, I love animals, and I think that everyone that even witnessed this crap should be fined, jailed, smacked around, whatever.  I even wish we could put him in a cage with, lets say Ray Lewis or someone, and let them fight it out until one of them is dead. I really wish it worked that way, honestly.

Now here’s what’s messed up, and I know I’m going to get some crap for saying this, but what I just said would probably not get as much press as the current Vick case now.  When only humans are involved, it’s hardly an issue.  If this was an underground Fight Club where people fought to the death, I bet we’d all think it was despicable, but we would have already moved on.  If Vick crashed into a school bus full of kids while drinking and driving, he’d be on house arrest for a month and he’d be in training camp now.  You have a ton of people getting drunk and killing people, getting DUIs, getting all drugged up and beating their wives, but these guys still get to play ball on Sunday.  Throw in some dogs though, and we want to throw the guy in jail for life.

He screwed up, he needs to pay dearly…  hands down.  I just always think about how screwed up our society is when we’ll crucify someone for messing with dogs, but we’ll take it easy on someone who raped and murdered humans because they were “stressed” at work that day.  Hopefully this is the beginning of some sort of a no-tolerance type of attitude in the NFL and really, all of the other sports.  Actually, taking that a step further, why not include the celebs like Linsey, Paris, and Nicloe.  Come ON, 82 minutes in jail for Nicole?  Christ…  nevermind, I should save my energy for work.
